St Paul’s Cathedral

সেন্ট পলস ক্যাথিড্রাল

The Gothic Revival cathedral beside the Maidan, consecrated in 1847.

About St Paul’s Cathedral

St Paul’s replaced St John’s as the Anglican cathedral in 1847. Its original spire fell in earthquakes; the present tower, rebuilt after 1934, is modelled on the Bell Harry tower of Canterbury. Inside are a wide unsupported roof, carved stalls and a west window designed by Edward Burne-Jones. The midnight service on Christmas Eve is a city occasion.
