Ahiritola Ghat

আহিরীটোলা ঘাট

A neighbourhood ferry ghat with boats across to Howrah.

About Ahiritola Ghat

Ahiritola is an old para named for the Ahir milkmen who once lived here. Its ghat is a commuter jetty: small ferries shuttle people across the Hooghly to the Howrah bank. For a few rupees it gives you the river, the skyline of the north and the bridge in the distance from the water.

Why visit

The cheapest river cruise in the city, with locals for company.
