Minerva Theatre

মিনার্ভা থিয়েটার

An 1893 playhouse on Beadon Street that still stages plays.

About Minerva Theatre

Minerva opened in 1893 with a Bengali Macbeth and became one of the great stages of the commercial theatre; Girish Ghosh worked here, and in the 1950s and 60s Utpal Dutt’s Little Theatre Group made it the home of political theatre. The state took over the worn-out hall, restored it and now runs it as a repertory theatre.
