A Doric temple-fronted church of the 1920s, beside the Kalighat tram depot.

About Greek Orthodox Church

Greek merchants traded in Calcutta from the eighteenth century and had a church in the old town. When that site was sold the community built this one in the 1920s in Kalighat, with a pediment and columns like a small Greek temple. The Greeks are gone; the church is kept by the Orthodox mission, which runs charitable work from it.
