Down the river
An old mill and oil-depot town on the Hooghly at the end of a suburban railway branch. Two pieces of history bring visitors: the memorial to the passengers of the Komagata Maru, and, a few kilometres on, Achipur, where the first Chinese settlers in India made their home.
