Mill town with a temple like Dakshineswar
A jute and paper mill town on the river. At its northern edge, in Chanak, stands the Annapurna temple built in 1875 by Rani Rashmoni’s daughter Jagadamba, on the same navaratna plan as Dakshineswar and far quieter.
Did you know
- Titagarh’s mills drew workers from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Andhra, and the town is still multilingual.
