Park Street
পার্ক স্ট্রিট
Also known as Mother Teresa Sarani.
The city’s dining street, and its Christmas street.
About Park Street
Park Street took its name from a deer park kept by a chief justice in the eighteenth century. In the 1950s and 60s its restaurants, with live bands and cabaret, made it the centre of the city’s night life. Several of those restaurants survive, alongside a tea room, a bookshop and old apartment mansions. In the last week of December the street is lit end to end and hosts the Kolkata Christmas Festival.
