The family museum of the zamindars who once held Calcutta.

About Sabarna Sangrahashala

The Sabarna Roy Choudhury family held the zamindari of Kalikata, Sutanuti and Gobindapur until they transferred the rights to the East India Company in 1698. The family went to court in the early 2000s to argue that Job Charnock should not be called the founder of the city, and won. Their small museum in Barisha, run by a family trust, shows documents, coins, household objects and old newspapers, and holds a heritage exhibition each February.
