Maniktala Market
মানিকতলা বাজার
A clock-tower market famous for its fish.
About Maniktala Market
A big municipal-style market at the Maniktala crossing with a clock tower over its entrance. Kolkatans who are serious about fish come here for hilsa in the monsoon, bhetki, pabda and river prawns. The morning auction of arriving fish and the rows of bonti-wielding fishmongers are the show.
