Pareshnath Jain Temple
পরেশনাথ জৈন মন্দির
Also known as Calcutta Jain Temple, Badridas Temple.
A garden of four Jain temples glittering with mirror-work and coloured glass.
About Pareshnath Jain Temple
Rai Badridas Bahadur Mookim, a jeweller, built the main temple in 1867. It is dedicated to Shitalnath, the tenth tirthankara, and its interior is covered in mirror inlay, stained glass and chandeliers. A lamp inside is said to have burned without a break since the temple was consecrated. Three more temples stand in the same complex, round a garden with fountains, statuary and a pond.
