APC Road, Bidhan Sarani, Bhupendra Bose Avenue, RG Kar Road and Barrackpore Trunk Road meet here under a bronze of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on a horse. For North Kolkata this is the centre of the map: directions are given from it, protests gather under it and the old shops around it have fed the para for generations.
