Ghats, Ramakrishna and the first public Puja of the north

A riverside para of old houses and narrow lanes with deep ties to the Ramakrishna movement: Sarada Devi lived here, Sister Nivedita opened her school here and Balaram Bose’s house hosted the meeting that founded the Ramakrishna Mission. Bagbazar Sarbojanin is among the oldest community Durga Pujas in the city.
