The Tagores’ neighbourhood
Chitpur Road, now Rabindra Sarani, is the oldest road in the city, and Jorasanko beside it was home to the Tagores. Within a few hundred metres are the house where Rabindranath was born, the Marble Palace, Nakhoda Masjid and the food lanes of Zakaria Street.

- Chitpur Road predates the city: it was the pilgrim path to Kalighat.

From Girish Park metro walk to Jorasanko Thakur Bari, then south along Rabindra Sarani to Nakhoda Masjid and Zakaria Street.
