About Armenian Ghat

Manvel Hazaar Maliyan, an Armenian trader, built this ghat in 1734, when the Armenians were among the leading merchants of the settlement. It later became the landing for ferries and for the city’s first railway ticket office, before Howrah station had a bridge to the city. It stands just south of the flower market.
