Prinsep Ghat to Howrah Bridge along the Hooghly
The city’s river edge from south to north: a colonial pavilion, bathing ghats, a riverside park and the flower market under the bridge.

- Start around 3 PM to finish at the bridge by dusk, or reverse it at dawn to begin with the flower market.
- Getting to the start
- Prinsep Ghat station on the Circular Railway, or a taxi from Maidan metro.
The route
- Prinsep Ghat The Palladian pavilion and the lawns under Vidyasagar Setu.
- Babughat Walk the promenade north to Rani Rashmoni’s colonnaded ghat of 1830.
- Eden Gardens A detour into the old garden with its Burmese pagoda.
- Millennium Park Sit by the water opposite the old office district.
- Armenian Ghat An Armenian merchant’s ghat of 1734, with the bridge close ahead.
- Mullick Ghat Flower Market Marigolds by the sackful under the bridge.
- Howrah Bridge Finish by walking out on the footpath over the river.
