Gariahat

গড়িয়াহাট

South Kolkata’s shopping crossroads for saris and pavement bargains.

About Gariahat

Around the Gariahat crossing every kind of shop meets: old sari houses with Dhakai, Tangail and Baluchari on their shelves, jewellers, and hundreds of pavement stalls under the flyover selling clothes, bags, crockery and junk jewellery. The market building behind is known for fish. Before Durga Puja the pavements are almost impassable.
