About Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture

Founded in 1938 to mark the birth centenary of Sri Ramakrishna, the Institute moved to its large building at Golpark in 1961. It has one of the best public libraries in the city, a museum of Indian art, language classes and an auditorium with regular lectures and music. On the pavement outside are Golpark’s second-hand book stalls.
