About Portuguese Church

The Cathedral of the Most Holy Rosary on Brabourne Road was completed in 1799 on the site of an earlier chapel, paid for by the Barretto family for the city’s Portuguese and Luso-Indian Catholics. Its twin domed towers and pediment rise above the Burrabazar traffic. It is the seat of the Catholic Archbishop of Calcutta.

Why visit

The oldest Catholic church in the city centre, minutes from the synagogues and the Armenian church.
