Burrabazar
বড়বাজার
The great wholesale market
One of the largest wholesale markets in the country, a maze of katras for thread, spices, cloth and hardware. Hidden in its lanes are the Armenian church, two synagogues and the Portuguese cathedral, reminders of the trading communities that built the port.

- Porters with loads on their heads have right of way: step aside when you hear a shout.
